قضيت حكمة الله تعالى أن تتعاقب أجيال البشرية لتسطر تاريخها منذ أدم عليه السلام حتى يرث الله الأرض ومن عليها . ويمر الزمان لعصور لا تترك أجياله بصماتها على وجه التاريخ .. ولكن جيل العطاء الذى يتحدث عنه هذا الكتاب ترك بصماته ناصعة نورانية لتكون نبراسا لمن يليها من أجيال .. ان هذا الكتاب يتحدث عن الجيل الذى عاصر الفترة من عام 1948 وحتى تحقيق النصر نصر اكتوبر عام 1973 والكتاب يوضح التكوين الذاتى لهذا الجيل فى رحلته من المهد وحتى تحقيق الغاية من وجوده بالنصر العظيم . وقد شمل الكتاب على الشخصية الذاتية للجيل المبادى - والافكار - والمشاعر التى دفعته للعطاء . العقائد - والفداء- والتضحية - التى قدمها لوطنه. - الاخلاص - والسلوك - والاخلاق - التى توج بها حياته -الولاء - والانتماء - والحب الذى سار على نهجه . إن الكتاب استعرض لمسيرة الجيل منذ اغتيال اسرائيل لدولة فلسطين مرورا بثورة عام 1952 والوحدة بين مصر وسوريا ثم الى الدور الذى قام به حيال ثورة اليمن ثم الى قمة المأساة بنكسة عام 1967 وحتى تحقيق نصر أكتوبر العظيم ولقد خلص الكتاب الى أن هذه الحقبة من الزمن قد جاد الله فيها بجيل سار على درب العطاء المستمر فى جميع مراحل حياته لذلك فهو جيل العطاء وهم فرسان على درب النصر .
