هذا الكتاب ترجمة للباب الأول من القسم الرابع وللباب الأول من القسم السادس من كتاب باللغة الإنجليزية عنوان : "العقود" لمؤلفيه شيشر وفيفوت وفيرمستون بعنوان "أحكام الغلط ونسبية العقد" في القانون الإنجليزي، وذلك عن الطبعة التاسعة الصادرة في يونيو 1976. وقد قسم الكتاب إلى جزئين، تناول الجزء الأول في فصول ثلاث و"أحكام الغلط، حيث تحدث الفصل الأول عن الإتفاق الباطل وفقاً للقانون العام وقواعد العدالة، في حين تناول الفصل الثاني آثار الغلط من جانبين والغلط من جانب واحد في القانون العام، وآثار الغلط التبادلي والغلط من جانب واحد. ثم تناول الفصل الثالث المحررات الموقع عليها عن طريق الغلط. أما القسم الثاني من الكتاب، فتحدث عن قاعدة نسبية العقد ثم استعرض بعض المحاولات لتجنب القاعدة أو لغرض المسؤولية على العقد.
