هذه دراسة عن جوانب من بلاغة أمير المؤمنين علي بن أبي طالب عليه السلام حاول المؤلف من خلالها إلقاء ضوء يبرز جمال عباراته وبديع بيانه الذي أجمع كل منصف أنه أول بليغ بعد رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وسلم) وتعود أهمية هذه الدراسة إلى ثلاثة جوانب: الجانب الأول: أنها تتحدث عن رجل عظيم لم ينصف حق الإنصاف، حيث تراكمت على شخصيته حجب، بعد أن علمت الناس نظافة السلوك قولاً وعملاً. الجانب الثاني: وهي تتحدث أيضاً عن بلاغة الإمام عليه السلام، والبلاغة لها شأنها في علوم العربية. فهي كموضوع الرأس في الجسد وهي وساطة العقد، واليتمية من قلائد العقبان، وهي مستودع سرها، تعرف بها لطائف الكلام، بفضلها يبرز متكلم على آخر، وبها يعرف وجوه إعجاز القرآن، ويدرك ما فيه من خصائص البيان، ونفهم براعة الأسلوب، وانسجام تآليفه وسهولة نظمه وتأليفه. الجانب الثالث: قيمة كتاب نهج البلاغة للعالم قبل المتعلم فهو يحوي علوماً جمة، يجد فيه كل صاحب فن فنه، واتصلت الحلقات بينه وبين علماء الكلام والتوحيد. كما اتصلت الحلقات بينه وبين علماء الفقه والشريعة، وعلماء الأدب والبلاغة، فالإمام أستاذ هؤلاء جميعاً بالسند الموصول. كما يقول الأستاذ العقاد.
