Book Description
اللغة السريانية هي إحدى اللهجات الآرامية، والآرامية لغة من مجموعة اللغات التي اتفق العلماء على أن يطلقوا عليها اسم اللغات السامية. والآراميون شعب من الشعوب السامية يتألف من عدة قبائل نزحت من شبة الجزيرة العربية في هجرات متتالية منذ القرن الخامس عشر قبل الميلاد، حيث كانوا دائمي التنقل بين نجد في الجنوب وحدود الشام في الشمال ونهر الفرات في الشرق وخليج العقبة في الغرب. وكانت ظروف الصحراء القاسية تضطرهم أحيانًا إلى الالتجاء للحضر فيدخلون مغيرين. فعلى سبيل المثال توغلت جماعات من الآراميين في الجزئين الأوسط والجنوبي من أرض الرافدين، وتفرعت منهم قبائل كلدو (التي اشتق منها اسم الكلدانية) على شواطئ الخليج العربي.
ظل أهل السريانية فترة طويلة من الزمن يتقنون لغتهم نطقًا وكتابة بحكم الفطرة والعادة، فكانوا يتناقلون قواعد لغتهم عن طريق المشافهة جيلًا بعد جيل، دونما حاجة إلى ضوابط تهديهم إلى التصحيح وتعصمهم من الزلل. واستمر الوضع على هذا الحال حتى القرن السادس للميلاد، حيث أن بعض العلماء السريان يهتمون بوضع مؤلفات في نحو اللغة، وكذلك يجمع مفرداتها وقاية لها من الفساد والضياع.
ونهضت المدارس السريانية المختلفة بدور رائد، وقد نشأت هذه المدارس إثر انقسام السريان بسبب خلافتهم العقائدية إلى شرقيين (النساطرة أو القائلين بأن للمسيح طبيعتين)، وغربيين (اليعاقبة أو القائلين بأن للمسيح طبيعة واحدة)، حيث أسس كل فريق مدارس تابعة له، مثل مدارس الرها ونصيبين وسلوقية والحيرة النسطورية، ومدارس دير مار متى ودير قنسرين وبيت شاهاق اليعقوبية.
