لقد استوحي كثير من الفنانين المصورين من موضوعات الإنجيل العديد من لوحاتهم التي خلدها الزمن فقد كانت وما زالت الصورة أفضل وسيلة للتعبير ولهذا فقد حرصت في كتابي هذا أن أجمع علي قدر المستطاع والمتاح أهم وأشهر اللوحات التي استوحت موضوعها من مصدر واحد من الإنجيل وقد حرصت علي أن يكون ترتيب هذه اللوحات هو نفس الترتيب في الكتاب المقدس مكتفيا بعرض لوحة واحدة للموضوع علي أساس أن تكون اللوحة قريبة من " النص" ولا تتعارض معه.
