يقدم هذا الكتاب صورة لتناول الفلسفى للأدب والنقد أوقل إنه يضع إطارا محكما للنظرة الفلسفية إلى الأدب وهو ما اعتبره أوج الاتجاه النقدى المعاصر الذى أصبح يناى عن مجرد التحليل الفنى لمظاهر الصنعة الادبية ويفتح الباب واسعا أمام العوامل الفكرية التى تحدد مسارات المدارس النقدية والمدارس الدبية جميعا . وهو هنا يربطها بأعلى ما يملكه الانسان وهو العقل فيرصد كيف تصدى الدب والنقد للقضايا الرئيسية الثلاث التى تكاد تشغل مكان القلب فى شعر كل شاعر وأدب كل أديب ونقد كل ناقد حتى دون تصريح بها وهى مفهومات الخالق جل وعلاها ( الله ) والطبيعة ( وشتى تفسيراتها ) والانسان ( بشتى صوره ) . هذا الكتاب ينبهنا الى اننا نستطيع التمييز بين المذاهب الادبية والنقدية لاعل أسس الصنعة او الصلات الثقافية وحدها بل الفكر الانسانى وهى الله والطبيعة والانسان . ولابد لى فى هذا التصدير الموجز ( وكان لابد أن يكون موجزا نظرا لطول الكتاب ) أن أوكد أنه كتاب يتطلب من القارئ جهدا خاصا فى القراءة فهو يتطلب على الاقل قدرا من التركيز قد لا يتوافر فى قراءة كتب اخرى
