هذا شرح مبسط لرواية قالون من قراءة نافع المدني، يحتوي على أصول رواية قالون، وفرش الكلمات في الخلاف بين رواية حفص ورواية قالون من طريق الشاطبية، ثم الفرق بين طريق الشاطبية وطرق الطيبة.
وقد كتبت الكلمات القرآنية برسم المصحف إلا في ما أردت توضيحه فكتبتها حسب نطقها تسهيلاً على الدارسين ولم ألتزم برسم المصحف، وإذا كان في الكلمة وجهان أحدهما مثل حفص كتبت الكلمة بالوجه الذي يخالف حفصاً ولو لم يكن المقدم، وضبطت ميم الجماعة بالسكون والمد المنفصل بالقصر - بدون إشارة المد - وذلك على الوجه المقدم عند قانون.
وقد ذكرت أرقام الآيات حسب العد الكوفي، وقد ذكرت الدليل من الشاطبية أحياناً، وذكرت في الحاشية بعض الشروح التي يمكن الرجوع إليها لمزيد من التوضيح.
