تمثل دراسة (العنوان) اتجاهاً جديداً في الدراسات النقدية الحديثة التي أولت عناية بكل ما يحيط بالنص من عتبات فصار العنوان مفتاحاً تأويلياً مرتبطاً بالنص، إذ يمكن عبره الوصول إلى دلالات النص، فهو المدخل أو العتبة التي يلج عبرها القارئ إلى أغواره لكشف خباياه وفك غوامضه وهو بؤرة مولدة لدلالاته، ويمكن أن يكون النص مضيئاً لدلالات العنوان وغوامضه، وتكمن أهمية اختيار الموضوع في كونه يتناول بالدراسة عنوانات قصائد شاعر عراقي موصلي هو الشاعر ذنون الأطرقجي، الذي لم يأخذ حقه بالدراسة، هذا الشاعر الذي له بصمات واضحة في القصيدة العربية الإسلامية خاصة، والذي شهد له بذلك عدد من النقاد والباحثين، ولاسيما العنوان فقد شهد عنده تحولات عدّة ارتبطت بتحولات تجربته الشعرية، وذلك عبر عنوانات أربعة دواوين شعرية وأكثر من مائتين عنواناً داخليا لقصائد شهدت تنوعات فنية مختلفة، فقد مر شعره بثلاث مراحل تمثّلت بما أسميناه (أول الطريق، والتيه، والإنابة)، ضمن تجربة شعرية امتدت لأكثر من نصف قرن من الزمن، ولرغبة تجمعني ومشرفي لدراسة مبدعي مدينة الموصل لما يمتلكوه من طاقات إبداعية تستدعي الوقوف عندها بالدراسة والتحليل.
