والكتاب في مضمونه يعرض إختبارات ومواصفات المياه بطريقة علمية –أكاديمية من حيث المعادلات الكيميائية والاختبارات الميدانية والدراسات السكانية (الديموغرافية). وقد قسم غلى سبعة وحدات على الشكل الآتي: الوحدة الأولى: الدراسات اللازمة لتقدير استعمالات المياه، الوحدة الثانية: مصادر الماء ونوعيته، الوحدة الثالثة: عشر الماء والمشاكل الناجمة عنه، الوحدة الرابعة: مواصفات واختبارات الماء، الوحدة السابعة: الترسيب الطبيعي وإزالة الدقائق الصلبة.
