في كتابه هذا ، يغطي المؤرخ الصقار محمد البرقان بن صعب بن برجس الخضير تاريخ وأمجاد قبيلة بني صخر ، فيذكر أصولهم ومواقفهم وبطونهم وأنسابهم ومرابط خيلهم . كما يقدم نبذة لكل واحد من سلاطينهم ومنهم " الأمير الخضر " و " الشيخان " كما يسلّط الضوء على " قائمة الصر لقبيلة بني صخر والواردة في السجل الصر العثماني لعام 1192 ه - 1978 م ) وفيها أسماء شيوخ قبيلة بني صر ، ومنهم الشيخ محمد بن بريص الخضير والشيخ محمود بن قني الخضير والشيخ محمد بن حيا ، وغيرهم . ثم ينتقل إلى القضاة العشائرية قبل الإمارة وبعد الإمارة في الأردن ، فيذكر القاضي أبو ذروة والقاضي عويد البرقان في الإبل ، ويستمر مع فرسان خضير أهل العرفا ، ومنهم الفارس مشيح ابو القلايع والفارس جريبيع المجافا ... كما يؤرخ لشهداء بني صخر وعددهم تسعة وتسعون شهيداً ، ويقدم دراسة تتضمن تحليلاً وتوثيقاً للمعارك ، وكلمات كبار ضباط قبيلة بني صخر . ويختتم بأمجاد ومواقف قبيلة بني صخر ، وديوان يتضمن أشعار قيلت في قبيلة بني صخر في مناسبات مختلفة .
يبقى أن نشير أن المؤرخ الصقار محمد خلف سلمان سميران عفنان البرقان بن صعب بن برجس الخضير ، هو من قبيلة بني صخر ومن وجهائها ، حصل على أوسمة عديدة وشارك في مناسبات مختلفة لقبيلته .
