"ابن تيمية، حياته وعقائده" كتاب أهمّ ما فيه أنه كان ابن تيمية هو الذي تكلم فيه عن نفسه وعن لباب عقائده لا عشاقه ولا حسّاده. استدعى المؤلف ابن تيمية ليحضر على هذه الصفحات، ليعرفه من لم يعرفه، وذلك ضمن أجوائه كلها من حيث الزمان والمكان، ثم يتكلم ابن تيمية عن نفسه شيئاً ليعرف القارئ صوته ونبراته، لينتقل المؤلف معه إلى لباب عقائده، وبالغوص في العمق دون الوقوف على القشور، وليبرزه بمساوئه وبمحاسنه.
فجاء هذا الكتاب ليمثل الفصل الأخير في ما كتب في موضوعه، وأما من حيث ترتيب مواضيعه فقد أعطى الباب الأول لمحة عن نشأة ابن تيمية وبيئته وعصره، وتناول الباب الثاني ميادين عقائده الكبرى: الاجتهاد والتقليد، الصفات والتفسير، مع الصوفية، وأما الباب الثالث فكان حول ابن تيمية، ودار الكتاب الرابع والأخير حول أهل البيت عليهم السلام في عقيدة ابن تيمية.
