وليثق القارئ بأن 95 في المائة من الشخصيات والأحداث التي ذكرها في هذا الكتاب مستقاة من وثائق رسمية أصيلة، على أنه بدل بعض السماء أو حذفها حفظاً لسلامة جواسيسي وأعوان من الحلفاء ما يزالون حين تدوينه لهذه الكتاب ماضين في العمل في حقل الجاسوسية ومكافحة التجسس. ولكي يقدم للقارئ حوادث حقيقية واضحة مفهوم، سعى إلى إعادة تصور الأحداث والأحاديث لآن، الوثائق المأخوذة من التقارير الفضائية أو الصحف أو المخطوطات الرسمية، لم تقدم له الفائدة التي يرجوها، وحرص في الحالات النادرة التي التجأ فيها إلى هذه المصادر الأخيرة على أن يكون في سرد الأحداث وتصويرها على حقيقتها، أقرب إلى المعقول والواقع.
