في هذا الكتاب يجمع "هادي عبد الله" الأحاديث النبوية والروايات المأثورة، التي تتناول الآيات القرآنية النازلة في شأن أهل البيت عليهم السلام وفضائلهم ومناقبهم، التي ذكرها أمام التفسير وحافظ الأحاديث النبوية العلامة جلال الدين السيوطي في تفسيره المشهور "الدر المنثور في التفسير بالمأثور" حيث فسر المرلف الآيات الكريمة باستناد الأحاديث النبوية، والروايات المأثورة عنه صلوات الله وسلامه عليه وعلى آله. ولمكانه هذا الكتاب ومؤلفه قام محقق الكتاب بشرحه مع ذكر مصادر أخرى للدر المنثور انتصاراً للرسول –كما يقول- وأهل بيته الطيبين الطاهرين.
وعلى هذا يكون كتاب "الدر المنثور" كتاباً، جامعاً لما روي عن الشلف في تفسير القرآن الكريم؛ لا غناء عنه لطالب علم التفسير وكل باحث في علوم القرآن الكريم.
وفي الكتاب يضع المؤلف ترجمة للإمام جلال الدين السيوطي وأخلاقه وثناء العلماء عليه ومؤلفاته في فن التفسير وفن الحديث وفن الفقه. بعد ذلك يشرح الكتاب تفسير (الدر المنثور) لكل سورة من سور القرآن الكريم ويبدأ بـ "سورة البقرة" وينتهي بـ "سورة النصر" ويختتم الفصل الأخير في الآيات الواردة في فضائل أهل البيت النبوي عليهم السلام.
