- هناك سببان أساسيّان لإحتمال عدم صدور مضامين الروايات المنقولة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم والأئمة المعصومين عليهم السلام.
-أوّلهما: الوضع وتعمد بعض الرواة الكذب على المعصومين عليهم السلام.
وثانيهما: أخطاء الرواة في سماع الحديث أو فهمه أو نقله.
ومن هنا نشأت ضرورة البحث عن إثبات صدور روايات الآحاد عن المعصومين عليهم السلام أو عدم صدورها.
- وقد سلك علماء المسلمين من أجل ذلك منهجين عامّين، أوّلهما: منهج نقد السّند، وثانيهما: منهج نقد المتن.
وفي هذا البحث عرض لأبعاد كلّ من هذين المنهجين، وبيان الفرق بينهما من حيث الأسس التي يقوم عليها كلّ منهما، ومن حيث النتائج التي يتمخّض عنها كلّ منهما.
