هذا الكتاب يستكمل ما تم بدؤه في كتاب "الإخوان المسلمين وأزمة الحكم" ولكن هذا الكتاب يميز بكونه رؤية أكثر توسعًا من الناحية التحليلية ومن ناحية المادة العلمية المقدمة. هذا الكتاب يشرح كيف انهار النظام السياسي الإخواني في مدة زمنية لا تتعدى العام. فالرئيس محمد مرسي لم يستطع إدارة مكونات ومفردات وقوى ومؤسسات الدولة والمجتمع مما أدى إلى ثورة مدنية ضد منهجية الحكم وانتفاضة شاملة لكافة قطاعات الدولة والمجتمع ضد الهيكل الوليد. اتسم النظام الإخواني بتعدد رؤوس الحكم منذ بداية الأمر الذي ولد معها توتر تأسيسي منذ اللحظة الأولى لم يستطع النظام تجاوزه بل ووقع في تروس متناقضاته، فالنظام الإخواني كان له خمسة رؤوس كبرى لكل منه أطماعه ومصالحه الرئيس ومكتب الإرشاد والحكومة ومجلس الشورى وحزب الحرية والعدالة. سعى هذا النظام منذ البداية إلى تشريع وتسيد منطق الحرب الداخلية بين القوى والفئات المجتمعية بفرض الهيمنة السريعة على مؤسسات الدولة والمجتمعح بعبارة أخرى- طبق استراتيجية الصدمة والرعب لكافة الفئات المعارضة بدون إدراك أن الرئيس مرسي قد صعد الحكم بنتيجة انقسام مجتمعي وليس نتيجة هيمنة اجتماعية.
