هذه الدراسة عن إليليا أبى ماضى، استفادت تقريباً من كل ما أخرجته المطبعة العربية عن هذا الشاعر الكبير، ولكن كاتبها له رأى فى أبى ماضى من شعره، قبل أن يتاح له الأطلاع على ما كتبه الآخرون عن صاحب هذا الشعر، وهو رأى يمكن القول بأنه جديد، ولا سيما فى القسمين الأخيرين، والقسم الأول من هذا البحث، ولعله قرار صادق ذلك الذى يذهب ألى الاعتقاد بأن ما من دراسة تخلو من طابع الذاتية، ولذلك فإن ما كتبه تالباحثون عن أبى ماضى، لايمكن أن ينفرد لنفسه فى القول بأنه قد استوفى دراسة هذا الشاعر العربى الكبير، فلكل دراسة أدبية منابع من الثقافة، والذوق، تستمد منها وجهة نظرها، وهى إلى جانب ذلك مفتقرة إلى غذاء من التجربة صقيل.
