استعرضت في الجزء الأول من هذا الكتاب البدايات الأولى لصناعة السجاد الشرقي القديم قبل الإسلام ثم تابعت معكم الفصول على نحو متسلسل بدأ العصر الأموي وحتى نهاية السجاد الإيراني الحضري؛ أي السجاد الذي كان ينسج في كبريات المدن الإيرانية مثل تبريز وأصفهان وقاشان وقم وغيرها.
وفي الفصل الأول من هذا الجزء من الكتاب سوف أتناول بالدراسة السجاد التي كانت تقوم بنسجه القبائل المختلفة الرحالة وشبه الرحالة في الهضبة الإيرانية، والتي كان لغة أغلبها غير الفارسية؛ إنها إما بعض القبائل التركمانية التي كانت قد دخلت إلى إيران في القرون الثلاثة أو الأربعة الماضية كنتيجة للضغوط التي تعرضت لها في آسيا الوسطى والتي كانت تتكلم ببعض اللهجات التركمانية؛ أو قبائل عربية الأصل كانت قد انتقلت إلى داخل الهضبة الإيرانية واستوطنتها أو اتخذت من بعض ربوعها مواطنا تتجول فيها فكما هو معروف أن عدداً ليس بالقليل من القبائل العربية قد دخلت إلى هناك منذ العصر الراشدي ثم الأموي؛ ومن البديهي أن تكون لغة أفراد تلك القبائل الأصلية هي العربية.
