تربى "جابو" على يد جدوده فى قرية صغيرة فى الكاريبى خلال فترة من التغيرات السياسية والاجتماعية العنيفة التي كانت تجتاح كولومبيا.
فى يوم واحد مر على "جابو" ثلج وبرد شديد وحر وحروق فى نفس الوقت مما ترك أثره عليه ليصبح جزء من مقدمة تحفته "مائة عام على العزلة".
فى هذا الكتاب سيتضح لنا كيف اثرت عائلة "جابو" وحياته الاجتماعية على اعماله، عندما يصبح من الطبيعى ان تتحدث مع الموتى فى وقت عصيب فى تاريخ كولومبيا.
وقد قام دار نشر "راى تاريجا" بنشر الكتاب فى يناير 2013 فى 184 صفحة، وقاموا باطلاقه فى مهرجان "القش الادبى" Hey Festival الشهير فى بلدة "كارتيجانا" فى كولومبيا. ولاقى استحسان كبير من الجمهور والنقاد على مستوى العالم. فهى اول مرة تتناول سيرة ماركيز فى عمل كوميكس.
وقام على العمل كاتب واحد "اوسكار بانتوخا" الرسامين "ميجيل بوستوس"، "فيليب كامارجو"، "اتيانا كوردوبا".
يقع الكتاب فى اربع اجزاء، كل جزء يتناول جزء من حياة "جابو". ويقوم بتناول مرحلة من حياته منذ الصغر الى نجاحه فى كتابه "مائة عام من العزلة".
