وقد تشعبت آراء هؤلاء، مما أوقع الناس في حيرة من أمرهم إزاء معرفة حكم الله في هذه القضية: لذا فقد جهد المؤلف في هذا الكتاب إلى توضيح أحكام الشرع في الموسيقى والألحان. ولمّا كان هذا البحث، يغلب عليه المنحى الأصولي والتقعيدي، اختار المؤلف عدم ذكر المراجع الأصولية لاشتراكها كلها في المعلومة، وإنما اختلافها يكمن في طريقة العرض والترجيح.
