يسعدني أن أقدم هذا الكتاب للقارىء العربي، وأتمنى أن يجد فيه كل من ينوي التقدم لاختبار IELTS خير رفيق، وقد فضلت أن يحتوي الكتاب على العديد من التدريبات وإجاباتها الكاملة، مع التدخل بالشرح والتعليق كلما احتاج الأمر لذلك.
وقد قسمت الكتاب إلى عدة فصول تتناول الفصول الأربعة الأولى منه أقسام الاختبار بالترتيب وهي: الاستماع- القراءة- الكتابة- التحدث. ثم بعد ذلك فصل عن مفردات اللغة الانجليزية يحتوي على تدريبات مكثفة، وأنصح من يريد التقدم إلى هذا الاختبار أن يتدرب جيدًا قبل دخوله، عليه أن يجيب على أسئلة جميع تدريبات هذا الكتاب وغيره من كتب التدريبات والاختبارات، وإلا يمهل تخصيص وقت كافي جدًا للمراجعة والاستعداد، على أن يولي التدرب علي المحادثة مع زميل أو معلم أهمية خاصة، حتى لا يرتبك في يوم الاختبار، فلا يجب أن تكون محادثته مع الممتحن هي أول ما يتعرض له من تعامل مباشر باللغة الانجليزية مع الآخرين.
كما أنني أحذر من الإفراط في الثقة والاستعداد المتعجل خلال أيام معدودة، فأهم شيء هو التعود على طريقة الاختبار، وغالب ما مر بي من حالات الاستعداد المتعجل لم يتمكن أصحابها من إحراز أكثر من 4 درجات وهي درجة غير كافية بالطبع لأن أكثر الجهات التي تشترط اجتياز اختبار IELTS تساهلًا لا تقبل بأقل من 6 درجات، وذلك بعد أن أصبح هذا الاختبار ضروريًا للتوظف أو الدراسة بالخارج أو غيرها في كثير من أنحاء عالمنا العربي.
