يعاني أبناؤنا طلابا وخريجين شيئا من الضعف التطبيقي في مجال اللغة العربية، من حيث ممارستها: نطقا وكتابة وقراءة، ولا يقتصر هذا الضعف على من لهم علاقة تخصصية بهذه اللغة، وإنّما قد يتجاوزها إلى غيرهم، مما يجعلنا نعدّ هذه الظاهرة ظاهرة عامة، ولا يجوز السكوت عليها في أي حال من الأحوال.
وربما يتخرج الطالب في جامعته، وهو يحمل شهادة عالية قد تكون في مجال اللغة العربية أو في غير مجالها، ويكون غير قادر على تحقيق الحدّ الأدنى من السلامة اللغوية، وهذا ما نشهده في أقلام بعض الكتاب، وألسنة المذيعين والمذيعات، ومن هم في موقع إدارة الندوات والاحتفالات، ومن هم في موقع تحرير المحاضر والنشرات في مختلف الدوائر.
ولما كان هذا الضعف آخذاً بالاستشراء والانحسار، فإنّنا - في هذا المجال - نحذر من هذه الظاهرة التي سيؤدي السكوت عنها إلى أن تصبح اللغة العربية غريبة في دارها وعلى ألسنة أبنائها، وفي هذا خطورة كبيرة على المستويات كافة، وبخاصة إذا تبنى هذه الظاهرة بعض من لهم سلطات أدبية وفكرية ممن يدعون إلى العامية باسم التطوير والتجديد.
إنّ الالتفات إلى المدارس، والمعاهد، والجامعات، والسيطرة المخلصة على طرائق التعامل مع اللغة العربية في أروقة هذه المؤسسات، وحسن التخطيط للنهوض باللغة العربية سيعود بها إلى صفائها واحترام تراثها، وإجادة أحكامها بإحكام.
ولعل أبرز مظاهر هذا الضعف عند الطلبة يتمثل في: - ضعف التحصيل في قواعدها النحوية.
- ضعف التحصيل في قضاياها الكتابية والإملائية.
- ضعف القراءة.
