لم يجد الأب في حياته أقرب وأعز عليه من ابنه ، ولم يجد أنفع وأفضل له من النصحية فابى ان يفارق دنياه دون ان يترك بين يديه عصارة خبرته الحياتية في جميع اوجها وما يتعلق بالدني وكذلك الآخرة، العبادات والمعاملات والحسن الواجب اتباعه والقبيح اللازم اجتنابه وفي هذا جمع له أربعة وأربعين فصلا وكون منهم كتابه "قابوس نامه" الذي بين يدينا .. هذا هو الملك الذي حكم واحد وعشرين عاما "كيكاوس بن اسكندر بن قابوي" موجها كلماته فيه إلى فلذة كبده المير "كيلانشاه".. ولأنه أراد له الاتقان في الجد واللهو في الحكم وفي الحياة مع الناس داخل القصور وخارجها فقد حدثه عن الدين كواعظ وأداب اللياقة كخبير متخصص وعلمه ما يعلمه في المعاملات كصديق وفي وفنون الحكم كملك خبر السياسة في السلم والحرب .. وكذلك حدثه عن نفوس الناس واختلاف طبائعهم ومعادنهم ، فإن كان هذا الكتاب قد جاء بدافع الأبوة فقد نفع الأبن وسائر الاجيال التى قرأته بكافة اللغات التى ترجم اليها في العالم كله.
كتاب النصيحة، والذي نقدمه للقارئ، يُعرف في الأدب الفارسي باسم نصيحتنامه أو قابوسنامه، أحد روائع الأدب الفارسي ومن أشهرها. وهو مكتوب على شكل نصائح يعطيها أمير شيخ حكيم لابنه؛ يتناول فيها الأمور الدينية وآداب اللياقة وقواعد الحياة الخاصة والمعاملات والتعليم وشئون الحكم. ويختم الكتاب بآداب أهل التصوف.
وقد ترجم وحقق الكتاب اثنان من المتخصصين: أحدهما المحقق الكبير والملقب «بعاشق الفارسية» المرحوم الدكتور أمين عبد المجيد بدوى، وكان ذلك عام 1952. وتنشره دار الشروق اليوم لأول مرة.
