نعمان خير الدين بن محمود بن عبد الله بن محمد الآلوسي، واعظ، وفقيه، وباحث، وداعية وهو من أعلام الأسرة الألوسية. وهو من دعاة السلفية إذ عاصر فترة ظهور دعوة محمد بن عبد الوهاب، وكان من المنادين لها في العراق.
نشأته وحياته
ولد نعمان في بغداد سنة 1252 هـ/1836م. ونشأ وأخذ العلم من علماء بغداد، وخصوصاً من أبيه محمود الآلوسي، وكذلك الشيخ حسين البشدري، ومن شيوخه الملا قاسم أفندي المفتي، ولقد تولى وظيفة القضاء في بلاد متعددة منها الحلة. وسافر إلى إسطنبول سنة 1300 هـ/ 1882م، فمكث سنتين، وعاد يحمل لقب رئيس المدرسين.
وكان من مشاهير الخطاطين في عصره، وتخرج عن والده في فن الخط، وكان يجيد الخط الريحاني على قاعدة خط النستعليق وكان يكتب كتبه ومؤلفاته بخطهِ، ومن آثارهِ الخطية بعض المخطوطات في مكتبته المحفوظة في مكتبة الأوقاف العامة في بغداد.
قال محمد بهجة الأثري في وصفه: «كان عقله أكبر من علمهِ، وعلمهِ أبلغ من إنشائهِ، وإنشاؤه أمتن من نظمهِ، وكان جواداً، وفياً، زاهداً، حلو المفاكهة، سمح الخلق ».

حرصت الورّاق ولا زالت تحرص على إعادة نشر بعض الكتب القديمة والتي مرَّ على صدورها أكثر من مئة عام، استذكاراً لمؤلّفيها الذين بذلوا جهداً كبيراً وإحياء لمنتوجهم الفكري أو الأدبي أو التاريخي.
يندرج هذا الكتاب ضمن هذا النوع من الإصدارات التي نقدمها للقارئ العربي.
ولد المؤلف رحمه الله تعالى سنة 1252هـ ألف ومائتين واثنين وخمسين في بغداد، وأخذ العلم عن والده العلاَّمة المفسّر المشهور السيِّد محمود أفندي المفتي الآلوسي وغيره من علماء بغداد كالعلاَّمة المرحوم محمد سعيد أفندي المفتي الأسبق، وعيسى أفندي البندنيجي وكان له محبة عظيمة لأهل العلم، ووعظ ودرس في المدرسة المرجانية ووقف عليها جميع كتبه المشهورة بالنفاسة.
وكان فريد عصره في الوعظ ومعرفة المذاهب وإختلافها عالماً في أحوال الرجال والحديث، ومهر في المعقول والمنقول والفروع والأصول، وله مصنفات كثيرة شهيرة منها: جلاء العينين في محاكمة الأحمدين، وشقائق النعمان وغالية المواعظ والجواب الفسيح في ردّ عبد المسيح، والإصابة والأجوبة النعمانية، وحاشية شرح القطر وغير ذلك، وله شعر نفيس ونثر عجيب.
توفي عليه الرحمة في سابع محرَّم السنة السابعة عشرة وثلاثمائة وألف ودفن في المدرسة المرجانية في بغداد.
