أني قد أوتيت علماً، ولم أستطع أن أستأثر به لنفسي لأمرين: الأمر الأول، ما جاء في كتم العلم من الوعيد، والثاني، أنني نبهت إلي جمعه وتلخيصه ونشره وتسميته "بالمبهج في المنهج الصوفي"، وقد يستغرب البعض من أن ينشر مثل هذا العلم ومن جبال السروات، فأقول: أنا الضعيف والبسيط لا طلباً لشهرة نشرته، ولا مكانة فطبعته، والله يهدي السبيل.
وقد يؤخذ علي من أصحاب الطرق الصوفية نشر بعض الأسرار من العلم اللدني، ولكني أقول لهم أقلوا علي اللوم؛ لأني أمضي علي المرسوم، وأنا ممن يتبع الكتاب والسنة لا طقوس ولا شطح ولا مداخل فلسفية ولا أمور مما يطعن عليها علماء متمكنون من معالجة السلوك بدواءٍ كي يقرب من علام الغيوب.
أخي القارئ: أنا العبد الضعيف الفقير أحوج ما أكون إلي التنبيه والتذكر الذي جعلت الخطاب لي في المنهج، علي الرغم من أن الخطاب قد يكون عاماً في الخطوات والكشوفات، وقد يكون خاصاً بي لعل الله يلهمني كلما قرأت هذه العظات أن أكون متفكراً في معانيها متعجباً من مبانيها آخذاً من أهدافها أملاً في وصولي إلي المامور، ولله عاقبة الأمور.
إن ما كتبت في هذا الكتاب علم له مكانته في قلبي وفكري، لم يكن في مجمله من العلم المكتسب بالتلقي من الكتب، عدا ما أشرت إليه في الهوامش، ولم أكن فيه إلا كاتباً له حين يلقي في حضرات وكشوفات من الله علي الضعيف الفقير بها، فأحمده علي نعمائه وأشكره علي آلائه.
