دراسة قرآنيةٌ حديثية، علميةٌ تأملية، لأحوال العدوّ المبين، وهو الشيطان الرجيم، وما ورد في الوحيَين من أوصافه، وطبيعته، وأفعاله، ثم خطواته في إغواء ابن آدم وإضلاله، والمداخل التي يتسلل منها إليه. وتشرح بعد ذلك سُبُل الخلاص من أفاعيل الشيطان تلك ووساوسه. وتختم بذكر قصة أبينا آدم عليه السلام مع إبليس، وما يُستخلص من تلك القصة من عِبَر وفوائد.
والمؤلف في دراسته يتناول النصوص القرآنية ويفسِّرها على ضوء فقه اللغة، وكلام كبار المفسّرين، بذكر المقياس اللغوي أولاً، مُعمِلاً نظرية الإمام ابن فارس البارعة التي أودعها كتابه المقاييس. أمّا النصوص الحديثية التي يستشهد بها فيوثقها من مصادرها، ويشرح مواضع الدلالة منها. ويحرص المؤلف على الربط بين تلك النصوص كلها، للخروج بتصوُّر متكامل لطبيعة الشيطان وسلوكه مع الإنسان، فتكون دراسته بذلك جامعةً للجانبين: البحثي العلمي والسلوكي التربوي.
