يقدم هذا الكتاب رؤية غير مسبوقة للتنوير ومبادئه الأربعة: "الانفتاح هو شرط البقاء" و"الإبداع هو شرط التطور" و " الغد هو الأفضل دائما" و" مسئولية الإنسان الكاملة وغير المنقوصة عن تقرير مصيره". وهى رؤية تتاسس على العقلانية الجديدة التى بدأت في الظهور منذ منتصف القرن العشرين إنطلاقا من اكتشافات الإنسان في عالم المادة متمثلة في ظواهر" التشكل الذاتي" وانتهاء بإنجازاته التقنية متمثلة في تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات ، وفي الهندسة الوراثية ومرورا برؤاه العلمية متمثلة في " المنظوماتية" و " السيبر نيطيقا" وبتوجيهاته الفكرية المتمثلة في نظرية التجدد الذاتي للمنظومات الحية وفي النظم المنطقية الحديثة مثل المنطق الغائم والمنطق متعدد القيم . فإن كان كل ما يمكن قياسه هو موضوع جبر الرياضيات فإن فكر الإنسان وضميره وإرادته هم من موضوعات جبر التنوير الذي يؤسس له هذا الكتاب فهو جبر يهدق إلى تحرير كل من فكر وضمير وإرادة الإنسان من كل ما يعوق إنطلاقهم ويشل حركتهم. وهو بالاضافة إلى ذلك يسعى إلى تأسيس قواعد لشرعية ومشورعية تلك الحرية وإلى إبراز أهميتها الفائقة في رفاهية بني البشر. وهو في النهاية يزود الإنسان بمنظومة متكاملة من الأدوات الذهنية لمساعدته على تحقيق تلك الأهداف. وهو جبر يمثل خلاصة العقلانية الجديدة التى نحتاج إليها في حل معادلات فترات التحول وأزمنة الاختيار.
