نهاد سيريس (1950-) روائي وكاتب سوري من مواليد حلب، درس الهندسة المدنية في بلغاريا وحصل على شهادة الماجستير في العام 1976 ليعود بعدها إلى مدينته الأم ليمارس هذه المهنة. بدأ نشاطه الأدبي بشكل فعلي في بدايات الثمانينات من القرن العشرين حيث ألَّف عدداً من الروايات والمسرحيات والدراما التلفزيونية وتدور معظم كتاباته حول مدينة حلب وتاريخها والعلاقات الاجتماعية التي تحكم سكانها ويعتبر أول من أشاع اللهجة الحلبية في أعمال الدراما السورية.

ينهض المشروع الروائي لنهاد سيريس على تراكم معرفي بالبيئة انسانياً واجتماعياً وسياسياً هذا التراكم مترابط مع التاريخ الذي يحدد الظواهر والصراعات التي ينفرد بها الزمن المعني في الكتابة. ف" رياح الشمال" روايته الأولى. تغوص في عوالم الإنسان الذي يجد نفسه فجأة وسط صراع جارف وماحق لابد له فيه ويجد نفسه مجبراً على أخذ موقف قد لا يشاركه فيه أحد. أيضاً كتب نهاد سيريس روايته "السرطان" التي يرسم فيها الإنسان العربي الذي يجد نفسه شبيهاً في المصير,بالهندي الأحمر في أمريكا.
في "الكوميديا الفلاحية" يكتب عن ظاهرة غزو العقلية البدوية لتقاليد المدينة الناشئة فيتم تفكيكها لصالح منطق العشيرة. أما في "حالة شغف" فهو يستمر في رصد الظواهر الفريدة والحميمة في مجتمع المدينة.
يعود نهاد سيريس في "خان الحرير" لرسم صورة شفافة لمدينته حلب في سنوات الخمسينات على أرضية الصراعات السياسية الداخلية والإقليمية والتي تسببت فيما بعد بالنتصارات والإنكسارات.
