• حصل على البكالوريوس من كلية التجارة بجامعة الملك سعود بالرياض عام 1963.
• تلقى تعليمه العالي في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية فحصل على شهادة الماجستير في الإدارة من جامعة منيسوتا عام 1966، ثم حصل على شهادة الدكتوراه في الإدارة العامة من الجامعة الأمريكية بواشنطن في مطلع عام 1970.
• تدرج في السلك الأكاديمي فحصل على درجة أستاذ عام 1979.
• عمل عميداً لكلية التجارة , وكلية العلوم الاجتماعية , وكلية الدراسات العليا، مستشار في عدة هيئات علمية, وعضو في هيئة تحرير المجلة العربية للإدارة, ومجلة العلوم الاجتماعية.
• له العديد من المؤلفات والدواوين الشعرية.

أن استخدام طريقة لتدريس موضوع ما يعتمد على عدة عوامل منها على سبيل المثال طبيعة الموقف التعليمي وطبيعة المتعلمين وطبيعة البيئة التعليمية وأصناف المعرفة العلمية وعليه يمكن القول أنه لا توجد طريقة تصلح لتدريس جميع الموضوعات ولجميع الطلاب لأن التدريس مفهوم معقد ومتشعب لذلك جرت عدة محاولات لإيجاد نماذج تدريس تصلح لتدريس المفاهيم باعتبارها قاعدة البناء الأساسي لأي مقرر دراسي لذا سنركز على بعض نماذج تدريس المفاهيم.
ويشير مفهوم طريقة االتدريس إلى كل ما يتبعه المعلم مع المتعلمين من إجراءات وخطوات متسلسلة متتالية مترابطة لتنظيم المعلومات والمواقف والخبرات التربوية، لتحقيق هدف أو مجموعة أهداف تعليمية محددة وقد يبدو من التعريف السابق أن تسلسل الخطوات وترابطها هو الضمان لجودة طريقة التدريس، إلا أن ذلك غير صحيح، فلا يوجد أي ضمان لجودة طريقة تدريس إلا المعلم ذاته.
