تلعب وسائل الإعلام دوراً رئيسياً فى تشكيل الإتجاهات خصوصاً فى ظل التحول الديموقراطى والإصلاح السياسى فى المجتمعات العربية حيث تعكس طبيعة العلاقة بين الدولة، والمجتمع، ويتوقف دور وسائل الإعلام فى عملية الإصلاح السياسي والديموقراطى لتعدد الآراء والإتجاهات المختلفة داخل مؤسسات الدولة، بجانب ما يعتنقه الأفراد من ثقافات ومعتقدات متأصلة لديهم، فطبيعة ودور وسائل الإعلام فى تدعيم الديموقراطية خصوصاً فى ظل اندلاع الثورات العربية المختلفة، وبناء الحياة السياسية، وظهور تيارات سياسية مختلفة، كقنوات للتعبير عن ما يريده المواطن فى بلاده، وما يحقق أحلامه، سواء من خلال مشاركته فى كتابه دستور بلاده، او بالتصويت عن من يحقق له مصلحته، ومصلحة وطنه ومن يسعى نحو تنمية بلاده، وأبناءه، ويسعى نحو تنمية بلاده، وتدعيم عملية التطور الديموقراطى، والتغيير السياسى.
ويستهدف ذلك الكتاب التعرض لدور مواقع القنوات التليفزيونية الإخبارية، ومدى قدرتها على تشكيل الإتجاهات لدى الشباب، نحو القضايا السياسية المطروحة على الساحة السياسية، وذلك من خلال ثلاثة محاور رئيسية: ( الأول يتعلق، بدور مواقع القنوات التليفزيونية الغخبارية وثانيا، ملامح لبعض القضايا البارزة على الساحة وثالثا، نتائج الدراستين الميدانية على عينة من الشباب الجامعى، والدراسة التحليلية لموقعين قناتى الجزيرة، وقناة النيل الإخبارية).
