إن المتأمل لجوانب الإسلام ليلحظ بلا جهد أن الجهاد مقصود من وراء كل عبادة ومستهدف كل خلق ومبتغ كل توجيه وأدب من آدابه، كما أنه مرام كل ضابط من ضوابطه وتشريع من تشريعاته، كما أن إقامة شريعة الله كاملة عبادة ومعاملة وحدودًا وتعازير، جهاد كبير لدرء الفساد وردع الإجرام والإنحراف، وهذا بديهي لأن دورها ومنهجها في الحياة أن يكون الجهاد في أعلى درجاته، لأنه ذورة سنام الإسلام، وما من أيام الجهاد فيهن أحب إلى الله من هذه الأيام النحسات التي يذوق فيها المسلمون هزائم في كل ميدان ويفقدون فيها الأرض والعرض والدنيا والآخرة، وقد شرع الجهاد في الإسلام دفاعًا عن النفس وردًا للظلم، وتحطيمًا للطغيان، وتحريرًا للشعوب، وفتحًا لأبواب الدعوة إلى الحق والهداية والخير، ويتناول هذا الكتاب الآيات المتعلقة بالجهاد في القرآن الكريم، حسب ترتيبها في المصحف مع تفسيرها مع الصحيح المأثور، وكذلك حوى طائفة من الأحاديث النبوية في فضل الجهاد، ثم تناول الكلام على أرواح الشهداء ومنازلها، ومعنى حياتها، وأين مستقرها، وما هو الشهيد؟ وما المراد بالشهداء؟ وغير ذلك.
