يُعد " قاموس أطلس الحديث إنجليزي-عربي (الموسوعي)" في إصداره الثاني خطوة متقدمة نحو مستقبل القواميس الثنائية اللغة (إنجليزي-عربي) من خلال مواصفاته العديدة منها:
1 - يضمّ القاموس العديد من المصطلحات، والكلمات، والمعاني العامة الجديدة، وأخرى منوعة ومتخصصة لكمية كبيرة من الحقول العلمية المتخصصة: كالطبّ، والعلوم، والفلك، والزراعة، والمعادن، والإحصاء وغيرها بالإضافة إلى أكثر من ألف كلمة تمت إضافتها إلى هذا الإصدار.
2 - يتعدى القاموس الفكرة التعليمية للقواميس بشمول معانيه وموسوعيّته ودمجه بين المعاني والعديد من الصور التوضيحية الملوّنة.
3 - يعتمد قاموس أطلس الحديث (الموسوعي) خريطة ونهجاً جديدين في عرض المعلومة. إذ جرى التعامل بالكلمة المدخلة بشمولية وبعرض المعلومات اللغوية المتعلقة بها كافة، فالمطّلع عليه يجد الكلمة ومعناها ورسمها الصوتي ونوعها وأصلها وصيغ الأفعال منها وصيغ الجمع وصيغ التفضيل وأشكال لهجتها إن وجدت ومشتقاتها ومرادفاتها وماضداتها وأشباه الجمل الفعلية والعبارات الاصطلاحية والأمثلة.
4 - يحتوي قاموس أطلس الحديث (الموسوعي) على العديد من الملاحق: ملحق قواعد اللغة الإنجليزية، وعلامات الترقيم، وتصاريف الأفعال غير القياسية، وجموع الأسماء غير القياسية، والاختارات، وملحق للأعلام والجنسيات والدول، وأكثر الامثال العربية والإنجليزية شيوعاً.
