يتحدث مؤلفة هذا الكتاب عن شاعر ومبدع أثار إهتمامه منذ قرأ له إلى واقع الشرق لا إلى شرق هارون الرشيد كما ورد فى كثير من المؤلفات أشهرها " ألف ليلة وليلة " إختيار المؤلف بعض أجزاء من تلك المسرحية وقام بترجمتها وذلك لآنها تعبر عن رؤية الشاعر وما أراد إيصاله للقارئ هذا بالإضافة غلى جزء كبير من الحديث عن الشاعر نفسه وحياته ونشأته والعديد من تفاصيل حياته الشخصية والفكرية تلك الحاية التى بدأت عام 1729 وإنتهت 1781 نسيت أن أخبركم أن المؤلف - ليس الشاعر هو ألمانى مستعرب أراد الإبحار فى كنوز الشرق وسحره.
