ويتناول هذا الكتاب دراسة جديدة بقلم الدكتور ربيع حامد خليفة الذى اعتمد على خبرته الأكاديمية فى دراسة وتدريس الاثار والفنون الاسلامية فى جامعة القاهرة واعتمد على دراساته الميدانية لموضوعات صنعاء . وجاءت فصول الكتاب الثمانية دراسة وصفية وتحليلية تعد الأولى من نوعها لفنون اليمن فى العصر الاسلامى التى تتمثل فى التحف المعدنية والتحف الخشبية التى تمتاز بجودة الصنعة ودقة وتنوع الزخارف كما نالت قطع النسيج والحلى نصيبها من الدراسة والتحليل هذا علاة على المصاحف الشريفة التى كانت من أهم ميادين فن تجويد الخط العربى فى اليمن وبصفة خاصة فى القرون الأولى من الهجرة النبوة
