تتطرق المؤلفة في هذا الكتاب إلى مواضيع عدة هي كالآتي: كيفية فهم الطفل للوصول إلى عقله وقلبه... ثم كيف يمكن للوالدين توجيه الانتقاد الإيجابي إلى الطفل لكي يطور نفسه بنفسه... إلى جانب وضع الحدود للطفل وتطبيق العقل الإيجابي... هذا بالإضافة إلى أساليب تخفيف المشاجرات بين الأبناء وكيفية تحكم الآباء في غضبهم على أبنائهم... ثم يتطرق الكتاب في فصله الأخير إلى موضوع بالغ في الأهمية وهو تعليم الطفل كيف يتحمل المسؤولية ويعمل على بناء مستقبل ناجح له.
