إن الدراسات والنشورات والكتب التى نشرها المستشرقين من دراسات للكتب العربية وتحقيق لأمهات الكتب كان لها عظيم الخطر على أمتنا وعلى تعاليم الإسلام ولم تكن هذه المنشورات من باب العلم والدراسات العلمية أو بمحض الصدفة بل لقد كان المقصود منها تشويه صورة الدين فى عيون المسلمين قبل غيرهم من الديانات الأخرى ويدرس هذا الكتاب موضوع الاستشراق الذى كان ولا يزال وراء كل دعوة خطيرة أحدثت تحولا فى المجتمع الإسلامى فى العصر الحديث كما أن الكتاب يدرس دائرة المعارف الإسلامية الاستشراقية التى تعتبر فى نظر المستشرقين مستودع العلم وخزانة المعرفة والمرجع الرئيسى فى العقائد والتريخ والسيرة والفقه وسائر فروع العلم المرتبطة بالاسلام والمسلمين والتى تاثر بها اللاحقون من المستشرقين كما أن هذه الدائرة تحظى بمكانه كبيرة فى مجال الدراسات الاسلامية والعربية بين الكتاب والباحثين المسلمين بالرغم من احتواءها على مغالطات فادحة خاصة فيما يتعلق بالاسلام والمسلمين ولهذا فان هذا الكتاب يحاول الكشف عن وجه الاستشراق القبيح ومنهجة المفضوح خاصة فيما يتعلق بشخصية رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وسيرته وإبراز ما انطوت عليه تلك الدائرة التى تسربلت برداء الاسلام والاسلام برئ مما جاء فيها من تعصب مقيت وإصرار على مخالفة المنهج العلمى فى الدراسة
