تمثل المادة العلمية التى يحتويها هذا الكتاب نتاج خلفية أكاديمية وتجربة علمية وعملية مارس خلالها الإدارة من خلال عضويته مجلس إدارة الشركة القابضة للتعدين والحراريات خلال الفترة 1992 – 2000 حيث كانت الشركة الشرقية "ايسترن كوملانى " أحدى شركاتها التابعة . وخلال ممارستة للمهام التى فرضتها عضوية الكاتب فى مجلس إدارة الشركة القابضة وعضوية الجمعية العامة للشركة التابعة لها تلاحظ له ان هناك تجربة إدارية رائعة تجرى على ارض الايسترن تحمل فى طياتها ابعادا ادارية واقتصادية وتكنولوجية ولكن لها ايضا روابط قومية واهدافا اجتماعية . من هنا وجد الكاتب فى هذه التجربة مجالا خصبا لرصد الجوانب الكاديمية والتطبيقية تحت مظلة لرصد الجوانب الأكاديمية والتطبيقية تحت مظلة نظريتة الجديدة التى تحمل ط نظرية المناطق غير المكتشفة فى الإدارة " وتمثل هذه الحالة مدرسة عملية متكاملة رسم خيوطها إحدى الشخصيات القيادية التنظيمية الطامحة التى سجلت العديد من الانجازات التى يمكن من خلالها استخلاص الكثير من الدروس المستفادة والبناء عليها وتقديم تجربة رائدة حية تستفيد منها شركات قطاع العمال بشقيها العام والخاص . وتمشيا مع هذا الاتجاه حرص الكاتب على المزج بين خلفيتة الاكاديمية وممارسة العلمية فى ميدان الأعمال وبالتالى تطبيق كل ذلك على اقتصاديات الشركة الشرقية " ايسترن كومبانى " كحالة دراسية فريدة فى نوعيتها .
