أرى البخلاء الطامعين بجنتي
وقد طلعوا عيني لأصبح (جاحظا)
وكم (شفطوا) مالًا، وشحت خزائن
لها يوسف الصديق أجود حافظا
فأصبحت (شحاتًا) على باب بخلهم
قضى درهمي المسكين حبسًا مغلظا
أبيع على فقري عيالي وزوجتي
وسعر (النوى) في مصر أصبح باهظا
ولم أتناول في مخبز الخير وجبتي
بل صرت من ناري طعامًا على اللظى
وقد صار في الوادي (الجنيه) بلا أب
يتيمًا على فقر يشق (المحافظا)
لدي أجندات عليها مطالبي
تقرطس (كنتاكي) لذيذًا (مكلبظا)
فأجلس في المقهى (أغمس) قهوتي
أرى (مزة) تبدي قوامًا (مقلوظا)
وعن بخلاء الحزب أحكي نوادري
ففي مصر يمشي الضحك للهم واعظا
