يرصد هذا الكتاب عشر من هذه المعارك، دارت وقائعها عبر فترة زمنية تمتد لقرابة نصف قرن، إن المنهج الذي اتبع في هذا الرصد يتمثل في بناء مشهد مجسم لوقائع تلك المعارك، حيت تتداخل القضايا الفنية مع الاحداث التاريخية لتنسج جزيئات المشهد الذي يتحرك فيه أطراف المعارك وتتوالي عبره الوقائع، إن منهجاً كهذا يكفل للقارىء الذي لم يعاصر احداث هذه المعارك، الإلمام بأحداثها جنباً إلي جنب مع الإحاطة بما وراء هذه الأحداث.
