يحاول الباحث في هذه الدراسة أن يلقي الضوء على كثير من التساؤلات التي طرحت حلول موقف الدولة العباسية من الدويلات التي استقلت عنها في المغرب الإسلامي، وذلك خلال القرنين الثاني والرابع الهجريين (الثامن والعاشر الميلاديين)
هذا الأمر جعل المؤرخين يطرحون التساؤلات والإجابات معاً، بحيث لم تحل هذه التساؤلات والإجابات من الخطأ والغلط وتضارب الأقوال، وذلك يعود لاختلاف الروايات والرغبات في تناول هذا الموقف للدولة العباسية من تلك الدويلات.
أمّا خلاصة البحث تتمثل في أن نشوء هذه الدول المستقلة في المغرب قد أثّر تأثيراً كبيراً في الدولة العباسية، ذلك لأن هذه الدويلات قد نتج عنها دول مستقلة، استقلت عن جسد الخلافة العباسية، وأقامت دولاً لها في الأطراف البعيدة من الدولة العباسية، والتي كانت في أولى مراحلها، وأوج عظمتها، ومع ذلك لم تستطع القضاء على هذه الدول، وإيقاف نموّها، والدليل على ذلك استمرار دولة الفاطميين في مصر حتى سنة 567 هـ.
