إن الإسلام يسوى بين الرجل والمرأة في حق التعلم والثقافة، فالآيات التى تحث على العلم ، والأحاديث التى ترغب فيه لم تفرق بينالرجل والمرأة وفي ذلك يقول ابن الجوزي في كتابة أحكام النساء " المرأة شخص مكلف كالرجل، فيجب عليها طلب علم الواجبات لتكون من أدلتها على يقين ، فإن كان لها أب أو أخ أو زوج أو محرم يعلمها الفرائض ويعرفها كيف تؤدي الواجبات كفاها ذلك ، وإن لم يكن سألت وتعلمت ، فإن قدرت على امرأة تعلم ذلك تعرفت منها وإلا تعلمت من الأشياخ . وقد كان الصحابة رضى الله عنهم يتوجهون بالسؤال عن دينهم إلى زوجات النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وبعد عهد الصحابة كان لبعض النساء المسلمات قدم راسخة في العلم ولم يكن عددهن قليلا في اى قرن من القرون التى كانت الحضارة الإسلامية فيها مزدهرة. وتدل شواهد كيرة على ذلك حيث نبغ عدد كبير من النساء المسلمات في علوم القرآن والحديث والفقه واللغة وشتى انواع المعارف بل لقد كانت منهن معلمات فضليات تخرج على أيديهن كثير من أعلام الإسلام فقد ذكر ابن خلكان أن السيدة نفيسة بين الحسن كان لها بمصر مجلس علم حضره الإمام الشافعي نفسه وسمع عليها فيه الحديث. ولهذا فقد قام المؤلف بإخراج هذا الكتاب الذي يحوي 1000 سؤال وجواب من بين الأسئلة العديدة التى تحير النساء وذلك بإسلوب سهل وبسيط يصل إلى كل قارئ
