جمعت في هذا الكتاب قصصاً كثيرة لكثير من الناس -رجالاً ونساءاً- قد رأوا النبي "صلى الله عليه وسلم" في المنام، منهم الصالحون ومنهم غير ذلك، مما نقلته لنا كتب التراث وحفظته من الضياع منذ مئات السنين، وهي قرون الخير، وقد تحريت فيها الصدق، سواء في صلب القصة أو في سندها، وكان عصمتي التي اعتصمت به شيئان: كتاب الله وسنة رسوله "صلى الله عليه وسلم"..، ولا يظن احدكم أن رؤية النبي "صلى الله عليه وسلم" في المنام علامة خير لكل من رآه، ولكنه علامة خير لمن كان على طاعة لربه، وعلامة إنذار لمن كان على غير ذلك، فقد جاء رجل إلى سعيد بن المسيب وقال: رأيت رسول الله "صلى الله عليه وسلم" في المنام. فقال سعيد: يا هذا بعثه الله بشيرا ونذيرا، فإن كنت على خير فازدد، وإن كنت على شر فتب.
ولهذا فإن علينا بعد قراءة كل قصة أن نتعلم منها درساً، وأن نأخذ منها عبرة، وأن نتعظ بما جاء فيها، فإن أكثرها -إن شاء الله- حقيقة صادقة وواقعاً لا كذب فيه.. وهذا هو السبب الأول لإخراج هذا الكتاب، أما السبب الثاني فهو زيادة شدة هذا الحب الكامن في قلوب المؤمنين لرسول الله "صلى الله عليه وسلم" لمزيد من الإيمان ومزيد من الاتباع، وتذكير بلقاء مرتقب به "صلى الله عليه وسلم" إن لم يكن في الدنيا في المنام، فإنه في الآخرة على الحوض إن شاء الله.. وهناك سبب آخر هو ترقيق القلوب بقصص الصالحين ممن رأوه "صلى الله عليه وسلم" في المنام، فإن لم نكن منهم فلنتشبه بهم فإن التشبه بالرجال فلاح..
