يعد هذا الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا من كتب علم الكلام غير أن أسلوبه في الرقائق والأحكام وطيب ولين الكلام، وقد كان مؤلفه من أئمة الصوفية المشهورين وعلمائها البارزين وعلماء العربية المقدمين وولي القضاء وألف الكتب فكان من ثمار علمه هذا الكتاب الذي هو نوع من أنواع الوعظ الفياض والتبصر والتدبر وتعليم الطالب كيفية (النظر والاعتبار فيما في الكون من الآيات والشواهد الدالية على وجوب طاعة الله سبحانه وتعالى وبيان أن كل جزء من أجزاء الكون دليل في ذاته على وحدانية الله سبحانه وتعالى، وأن الكون في إجماله دليل أيضاً على ذلك.
وبالعودة لميزات هذا الكتاب نجد أنه يمتاز بخصائص تتعلق بأسلوب مؤلفه إذ أنه اعتنى باستخدام الأسلوب السهل اليسير، المبسط، كمال وتميز أسلوب الكاتب بكثرة استشهاده بالآيات والأحاديث على منهج أهل السنة في الاجتهاد والاستنباط والتأليف فعصم كتابه في كثير من مواضعه من التناقضات.
يبحث هذا الكتاب في علم الكلام والعقائد والتوحيد والإيمان بالله تعالى، وهو كتاب وعظ وإرشاد وضع في البداية أبوابا في التوحيد والعقائد، ثم شرح بعد ذلك شعب الإيمان التي أوصلها إلى 74 شعبة مثل الورع، إكرام الضيف، الإيمان بالأسماء والصفات، النية والإخلاص وغيرها من شعب الإيمان ويأتي على ذلك بالشواهد من القرآن والسنة وأقوال العلماء وهذه طبعة محققة وعليها تعليقات تخص مبحث الكتاب.
