(ليس في هذه البلدة لصوص) هي قصة صعلوك شاب إسمه (دامازو) يعيش في بلدة صغيرة ليس له من المؤهلات سوى وسامته وأناقته وعينيه الجميلتين. وقد تزوج من إمرأة تشتغل بغسل الملابس وكيها، وهي تنفق عليه.
وقد كان أهم شئ أراد ماركيز إبرازه في هذه القصة هو تعسف السلطة وفسادها. وفي هذا الكتاب سننهل أكثر من عبق هذه القصة الساحرة، وقصص أخري لا تقل عنها متعة وإثارة.
