مما لا ريب فيه، أن الله عز وجل جعل كتابه العزيز القرآن الكريم من أعظم الكتب السماوية وأجلّها وأعزّها لأنه سبحانه وتعالى أكّد على ذلك في كتابه الكريم نفسه وآياته العظيمة، فهو الكتاب الذي أنزله على نبيّه محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم تصديقاً لما بين يديه، وجعله تبياناً لكل شيء، وهدىً ورحمةً وبشرى للمسلمين. وهو كتاب لا ريب فيه هدىً للمتقين، وقد أخذ عزّ وجلّ على نفسه حفظه وصونه من التحريف والتبديل إلى يوم الدين. وهذا الكتاب الذي آياته محكمات بيّنات ومفصلات أهم وأعظم آية فيه هي البسملة [بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم] التي افتتح بها الباري كتابه العزيز. من هنا فإن عنوان هذا الكتاب يوحي بمضامينه، وموضوع بحثه. فالبسملة، وهي مقدمة القرآن الكريم، هي أفضل آية من أفضل سورة من أفضل سورة، وقد ارتأى الشيخ القديري أن يضع له عنوان "ومضات" لما سيجده القارىء فيه حقيقة من بريق عظمة هذه الآية الكريمة وكما لها وشرف حروفها ومنزلتها خاصة "الباء" الذي يستدل المؤلف من خلال الروايات المتواترة من أهل البيت عليهم السلام أنه له ميزة خاصة وشرف عظيم يعلو به على سائر حروف الآية، وكذلك الإسم المبدوء به الآية، ومثله (الرحمن الرحيم). من هنا تميز هذا الكتاب في كونه تناول تفسير آية واحدة فقط من آيات القرآن الكريم، وذلك بأسلوب جديد يهتم بتوضيح وتبيين لماذا أصبحت هذه الآية أفضل آية من أفضل صورة من سوره، مستشهداً في ذلك بالكتاب الكريم نفسه، والأحاديث والرويات الشريفة، ومستعرضاً الآيات المباركات التي تحدثت عن التسمية، بالإضافة إلى المعارف الإلهية المستقاة من وحي البسملة، والأقوال الحسنة بباء البسملة الواردة عن أهل البيت عليهم السلام، وأهمية وفائدة التوسل باسمه المبارك، مؤكداً أن البدء باسم الله يرسم مسيرة الحياة، ولم يفت المؤلف البحث في حرف "الباء" والنقطة التي تحته، ومدلولاتها ولفظة الجلالة، خاتماً كتابه بقبسات من أنوار الأدعية في التوسل باسم الله الأعظم، وفقه البسملة، وأربعين حديثاً عن فضل البسملة، أعقبها نظرة سريعة إلى هذه الأحاديث ومدلولاتها.
