وقد أوجدت حركة نسخ المخطوطات في عُمان حراكًا اجتماعيًا وثقافيًا واقتصاديًا، كما أنها عكست فكر المجتمع العُماني عبر العصور، فوُجِد المؤلفون والناسخون والورّاقون وصانعو أدوات النسخ كالأقلام والمحابر، والمجلِّدون وتُجّار المخطوطات، بالإضافة إلى ظهور الأُسَر العلمية المتخصصة، والعائلات المهنية؛ هذا فضلاً عن المساهمة العُمانية في الإنتاج المعرفي العربي والإسلامي والتي شملت فنون العلم المختلفة.
