في مستهل هذا الكتاب تجد دليلاً مختصراً يحتوي الأوامر الرئيسة للغة بيسك مع عدد كبير من الأمثلة لتوضيح كيفية استخدام هذه الأوامر. أما الجزء اللاحق من الكتاب فيبين كيفية استخدام أوامر لغة بيسك في البرامج لإنجاز مهمات معقدة مثل إنشاء قواعد البيانات وإظهار الرسومات والأشكال على الشاشة وتصنيف البيانات.
وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن البرامج في هذا الكتاب مكتوبة بالصيغة القياسية للغة البرمجة بيسك، وهي صيغة تعمل بها غالبية الحواسيب المكروية مع بعض التعديلات الطفيفة. وهناك دليل لتحويل البرامج المختلفة لتعمل على حاسوبك الشخصي تجده على الصفحتين العاشرة والحادية عشرة، كما تجد في آخر الكتاب التعديلات التي يتعين عليك إدخالها على البرامج عند استخدامك حواسيب من طراز سنكلير لأنها تستخدم صيغة مختلفة عن الصيغة القياسية بعض الشيء.
ومن ناحية أخرى فقد زودت جميع البرامج الواردة في الكتاب بشروحات تفصيلية توضح كيفية عملها. هذا بالإضافة إلى عدد من التقنيات المفيدة والبرامج الورتينية التي باستطاعتك أن تستخدمها في برامجك، كما أن هناك العديد من الأفكار المتعلقة بإجراء التجارب على البرامج وتكييفها للقيام بالوظائف المختلفة.
