عندما وقعتُ عيني على كتابٍ قد ضمنه صاحبه نظماً لكتاب الورقات للإمام "الجويني"، فلما طالعته وقبلت فيه البصر، وأعدت في صفحاته النظر ثم سرحت فيه فكري، فتقابل في أثناء سيره بذلك النظم الذي سطرته يراع الإمام "العمريطي" وجادت به قريحته في نظمٍ نفسٍ الكتابٍ المذكور؛ فجادل كتاب صاحبنا عن نفسه، وقدم براهيناً قوية معترضاً على عدم إلتفات الناس إليه وعدم إشتغالهم به، فاقتنع الحضور بحجته وقاموا بدعوته فاستقر في النفس الرغبة في إخراجه لعالم المطبوعات، والحرص على أن يكون له وافر الحظ والنصيب في الإشتهار والإنتشار.
فشرّعتُ في نسخه والتعليق عليه بما يلزم دون إطالةٍ؛ فالكتاب قد صنف للمبتدئين وإخراجه عما صنف له بكثرة الحواشي والتعليقات، بل اكتفيتُ بذكر ما انطبعت عليه نفس نحو الكتاب في التقدُمَة التي قدمت بها للكتاب؛ كما قمتُ بنسخ الخطوط، وعزوتُ الآيات إلى مواضعها مع التأكد من صحة نقلها، وخرّجتُ الأحاديث، مع بيان صحتها من ضعفها، وقمتُ بوضع عناوين جانبية لفقرات الكتاب، ووضعتُ فهارس علمية للكتاب.
