"عدة المسافر وعمدة الحاج والزائر" هدف فيه مؤلفه أن يحصر نبذة مختصرة في آداب الحج والعمرة والزيارة، محلاة بأذكارها، ونفائس أحكامها، التي يتعين التنبيه عليها. فكان الكتاب جامعاً مانعاً، حيث جمع فيه المؤلف بين مقصود الكتب المحررة، والمصنفات المعتبرة. وضم إليها ما هو مدون في الكتب المختصرة؛ ليكون قربة وتذكرة. فاتسم هذا الكتاب بقرب المأخذ، ولين العبارة، من غير تكلف أو تعقيد.
فهو بحق كما نعته صاحبه حيث سماه بـ« عدة المسافر وعمدة الحاج والزائر ». حيث لخص في هذا السفر للحاج والزائر والمسافر: آداب الحج والعمرة والزيارة وأحكام المسافرين. مضيفاً إليها نفائس الأحكام والأذكار. فأتى بمقصود الأحكام من غير حشوٍ أو إسهاب، وأتى بمتون الأحاديث طاوياً الإسناد. ولتعم الفائدة.. استخدم المؤلف في مؤلفه لغة سهلة سلسة. فجاءت العبارة سهلة قريبة المأخذ من دون لبس أو خفاء.
فكان هذا الكتاب كما أراد له صاحبه ملاذاً للمسافر ينهل منه من معين الأحكام والأذكار، ونوراً يضيء به ظلمة السفر، وعماداً للحاج والزائر يرتكز عليه في حجه وزيارته.
