"النقاية" للإمام صَدْر الشريعة عبيد الله بن مسعود المحبوبي اختصر فيه كتاب الوقاية "وهو أحد المتون الأربعة المعتمدة عند الحنفية"، المنتقى من كتاب الهداية. أما فتح باب العناية بشرح النقاية هذا، فهو للإمام الفقيه علي بن محمد سلطان القاري الحنفي المكي، المتوفى (1014هـ) ذكر في مقدمته أنه اختصر كتاب: وقاية الرواية في مسائل الهداية، واتخذ هذا "المختصر" مشتملاً على ما لا بد منه، فمن أحب استحضار مسائل "الهداية" فعليه بحفظ "الوقاية" ومن أعجله الوقت، فليصرف إلى حفظ هذا "المختصر". وأصل الكتاب مخطوطة موجودة في المكتبة السليمانية في تركيا، عمل عليها المحققان وتم مقابلة مطبوعة حصلا عليها من باكستان، فأثبتا الفوارق المغيرة للمعنى، وأسقطا الكثير مما ليس مهماً ويقل الحواشي. كما عملا على ضبط النص وترجيح الصواب عند الاختلاف كثيراً وقاما بتخريج الآيات القرآنية والأحاديث النبوية واقتصرا في ذلك على تخريج الأحاديث التي لم يعزها مُلا علي لمُخَرِّج ولم يهملا شرح غريب الألفاظ، وخاصة تلك التي تخفى على المبتدئين، وقاما بضبط الأعلام وبعض الألفاظ كما صححا الأخطاء المطبعية والواقعة من الناسخ وتصحيح التحريف الواقع في الكتاب.
