نبيل راغب هو ناقد وكاتب ومفكر وأديب مصري معاصر من مواليد طنطا عام 1940. حصل على ليسانس الآداب من كلية الآداب جامعة القاهرة قسم الأدب الإنجليزى وشهادة الدكتوراه من جامعتى القاهرة ولانكستر بإنجلترا.عمل كأستاذ ورئيس لقسم النقد الفنى بالمعهد العالى للنقد الفنى بأكاديمية الفنون بالهرم ثم عميدا للمعهد لثلاث فترات متتالية.كما عمل كمستشار لوزير الثقافة في مصر من عام 1969 إلى 1973.بعد ذلك عمل كمستشار للرئيس الراحل محمد أنور السادات من 1975 إلى 1981. عمل كأستاذ زائر بجامعة إكسيتر بإنجلترا من عام 1982 إلى 1986. ألف 28 رواية تحول بعضها إلى أفلام سنيمائية مثل جبروت امرأة وخيوط العنكبوت وغرام الأفاعى ومسلسل برج الأكابر للتلفزيون المصري.وله أكثر من مائة مؤلف في الدراسات النقدية والسياسية والفلسفية والثقافية والحضارية.كما شارك في العديد من المؤتمرات والندوات والمهرجانات الفنية والسياسية العربية والدولية.و يعمل الآن كأستاذ للنقد الفنى في المعهد العالى للنقد الفنى وكلية الإعلام بجامعة مصر للعلوم والتكنولوجيا.

إعادة اكتشاف لأمريكا فى القرن الحادى والعشرين ليراها القراء على حقيقتها لأن كثيرين فى المنطقة العربية لا يعرفون سوى صورتها المبهرة التى تخفى الجانب المعتم من السياسة الأمريكية.
وتكمن خطورة هذا الجانب المعتم فيما يمكن أن يطلف عليه مصطلح "الحكومة الخفية" والذى لا يعنى حكومة بالمفهوم التقليدى، بل يعنى شخصية اعتبارية تجمع كل قوى رأس المال الخاص المتمثل فى المؤسسات الأخطبوطية والشركات العملاقة عابرة الجنسيات، التى تجسد الجبروت الاقتصادى المصحوب بالجيروت السياسى أو الاجتماعى أو الأثنين معاً.
إن منظومة "الحكومة الخفية" تملك كل مقومات الحكومة الرشيدة والقوية والراسخة دون أن تكون رسمية أو علنية أو تنفيذية أو فيدرالية. ولا توجد سلطة تستطيع أن تقيد انطلاقاتها سواء فى داخل الولايات المتحدة أو خارجها. ومن يدرسها ويحلها ، يستطيع أن يرصد الآليات والدوافع التى تحدد استراتيجية الحكومة العلنية الرسمية بصرف النظر عن تغير الحزب الحاكم وإدارته.
